Going to the Pumpkin Patch

Autumn is finally here, and that means it's pumpkin season! Around this time, many elementary schools in the U.S. will take their students on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. As oppose to the small green or white pumpkins often found in Japan, U.S. pumpkins are large and orange. Kids can look around to pick out the perfect pumpkin to take home to their families. Most families carve a face into the pumpkin, but some also use it for cooking delicious pumpkin pie. However they're enjoyed, they're sure to add to the autumn atmosphere.
いよいよ秋本番、かぼちゃの季節ですね。この時期、アメリカの多くの小学校は子どもたちを「かぼちゃ畑（Pumpkin Patch）」へ遠足に連れて行きます。 日本でよく見かける小さな緑や白のカボチャとは対照的に、アメリカのカボチャは大きくてオレンジ色です。 子どもたちは周りを見回して、お家に持ち帰るのに最適なカボチャを選びます。 ほとんどのご家庭はカボチャに顔を彫りますが、おいしいパンプキンパイを作るご家庭もあります。たとえ食べられたとしても、秋の雰囲気を盛り上げてくれること間違いなしですね！
